Business Plan Print E-mail

This is a commonly used term, but what is a Business Plan?  Why would you need a business plan?  What goes in it and what size should it be?  Would it really make a difference if you didn't have one?

As you develop your business idea and grow your business, develop a Business Plan. This is a written document describing the business's vision, aims and objectives, what it does, how it does it, what its market is like and information about its finances, including sales, staff and resources.

Having a business plan is 'common business sense' - and also has a large part to play in helping you secure funding for your business from, for example, banks, grant and loan funds, and other kinds of investors.  It is a continually evolving document that is a dynamic 'blueprint' to be used to help you plan, develop and grow your business.

There is a whole series of Free Workshops available to help you develop information to go into your Business Plan, and assistance to compile the Plan itself.
