Let Denise Care 4 You!

Over the past seven years Denise Cummins from the North Northumberland Market Town of Berwick upon Tweed has built up a strong portfolio of Training and Practical Experience in Holistic Therapy and Counselling obtained a Diploma in Professional Therapeutic Counselling and becoming a Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Working part time and participating in voluntary work Denise was very keen to use her skills for the benefits of others and open her Services to the local community. Denise decided to explore the idea of going Self Employed which led to her contacting NBSL (Northumberland Business Service Ltd) for assistance.

Denise already had some experience of Business Planning and was quite confident with the legal Issues of going Self Employed.  Therefore she was looking for Practical help and Advice to get her Business up and running.  The main Challenge Denise faced was deciding how to describe and Market the Services she could offer potential Clients and sourcing Funding for her Marketing Materials. Denise was also very keen to expand her Training in Holistic Therapy enabling her to offer a wider Service to Clients.

Through NBSL’s Enterprise Bridge Programme Denise was provided with the Services and Experience of Personal Business Advisor Melanie Thompson Glen. As well as the practical Advice and Guidance Denise required to turn her Business idea into a reality including Workshops which were tailored to Denise’s specific needs offering her the required information and Practical Knowledge to undertake her own Book Keeping.  Denise was referred to Project North East’s Flexible Funding to apply for Funding to enable her to undertake training for a Diploma in Indian Head Massage enabling her to offer a wider Service to Clients.  Melanie and her team also assisted Denise in securing funding to purchase her Marketing Materials.

Within three months of her first appointment Denise was seeing her first Client and her business Care 4 You now offers a Full Professional Programme of Holistic and Counselling Services in North Northumberland, including Reiki, Relaxation Techniques and Counselling.
