The North East Business Support Fund (successor to our previous Leadership and Management Advisory Service) provides tailored support, including advice and funding for eligible SMEs and social enterprises that have potential for growth and are based in North East England. The service (funded by ERDF) provides grant support giving businesses a fantastic opportunity to access specialist help, to develop the growth and profitability of their organisations.
The programme and its predecessors, has gone from strength to strength over the years, gradually building up the numbers of organisations assisted from just over 100 in the first year to getting on for 2,000 in 2010/11. In total well over 5,000 organisations have been supported over the years.
North East SMEs have been developed with a view to improving the competitiveness of their businesses, their capacity to grow their organisations and employ staff, and their contribution to the economy. Well over £3 million has been awarded in the form of grants since the programme(s) began.
If you employ less than 250 people, run a private sector company or social enterprise, undertake the majority of your business in the Business to Business arena and can show that you have aspirations for growth over the next three years, then you may be eligible for up to £1,400 of funding support from the North East Business Support Fund, matched by a contribution from your business.
